Take out To Go!

What's going on everyone!? I hope you have all had the best halloween wherever you may observe. Today went by pretty quick and before I knew it we were heading out of the door to go Trick-or-Treating.

After we got home I chose a very short game for us to play, Chopstick Dexterity Challenge 3000!!! It's a quick dexterity game that has you picking up wooden tokens in various shapes of Chinese food. While having a heck of a time laughing at each other my lovely wife was able to steal the victory!

Been playing for many moons!

What's going on everyone!? Today was another eventful day. We ended up going to a friends birthday party for his little girl. They had a blast and even got to do a little fishing!

After we got back home I found the perfect little game from Blue Orange Games to play for the Game a Day challenge called WAKANDA!

All in all it was a VERY quick game to learn as well as play but it's also a game that caters to the strategist in us all, lol.

BRAIIINNNSSSsss to go ppLLLEEEAaaaaassseeee!

What's going on everyone!? Today has been a rather eventful day around here. After my lovey wife got home, I figured that she would want to relax for her double shift tomorrow. Turns out, even after I had Small World set out for everyone that would play. She was raring and ready to go to walmart.

This wasn't soo bad really... I could try to get a few things i was wanting to get, But that didn't happen either, lol.

So for the Game a Day we grabbed our travel version of Zombie Dice!!!

The Family Farm!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife, dear ol' pops and I played a game of Agricola Family Edition! It was our first time (other than myself trying out a solo game of it last night) and it was a great time.

Somehow I ended up winning but otherwise it was a close game with my lovely wife scoring 25 and dear ol' pops scoring 24!

I can't wait to get this one to the table again soon. It's a really fun and simple game to learn but still keeps a good amount of strategy.

A Farmers life for me!

What's going on everyone!? Today has been a pretty quiet day. My beautiful daughter is sick with an ear infection and a sinus infection(Can only mean winter is coming soon right?). When she came home from school(Don't worry, she's on antibiotics and not contagious) she was supposed to get a few chores done and then I was going to ask her if she wanted to play a game with me.

She ended up passing out in bed from not feeling well and being tired on top of that from what must have been a busy day for the poor girl.

My lovely wife is stuck working yet another 16 hour shift so I've not had her company all day either. So like I said, it's been a quiet day, lol.

Later on this evening the UPS man dropped off a package on my porch. Since I didn't know anything would be here today you can imagine my excitement when I opened the door to take the trash out when there it sits!

So I quickly toss the trash in their cans and run inside like a boy on christmas that santa personally left a present for!

What could be inside but a review copy of the new Agricola Family Edition from Mayfair Games! Once I got a few of my chores done I thought I'd read over the rulebook and get a good sense of how to play with my family this weekend. I couldn't take it anymore so I played a solo game of it after getting excited to farm from reading the book, lol.

So today for the Game a Day challenge as I'm sure you can guess, I played Agricola Family Edition! It was a heck of a game and a little slow to start for me because I kept thinking I was over looking something in the rules. Turns out, I was looking for something explaining some complex stuff when I finally realized that the action I was wanting to perform was actually more easily done than I had expect!

Here are a few pics from tonight's session. I can not WAIT to play this again VERY soon!!!

300th DAY!!!!!

What's going on everyone!? Today is a momentous occasion for me. Today marks the 300th day straight that I've played at LEAST one game EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. this year.

How, what's that mean for the blog? Well, it means mostly that there are only about 65 days left to complete what I set out to do back on Jan 1st. It also means I've got to decide... Do I keep doing this "Game a Day" challenge and see how long I can make it? Should I stop doing it and focus more on reviewing? Should I continue things just as they are now with reviews AND Game a Day posts? I can't thing straight so feel free to chime in. :)

So for today's 300th Game a Day Challenge my lovely wife and I decided to play one of my many favorite games and in fact one that got me started really. You see, Fireside Games holds a special spot in my heart. They were the first "Big Guys" to honor me which a chance to review one of their wonderful games.

We played CASTLE PANIC!!!!! WITH THE WIZARDS TOWER EXPANSION!!!!!!!

It was a great game as always and a fast ride with plenty of cheers and chills all in the same game. I HIGHLY suggest you try this one out. It's a 1 - 6 player game and is wonderful for family gaming nights because it's a co-op game!

Texas Tea!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife, dear ol' pops and I played a game of Black Gold!

It was a great game and one of those games that, although tedious, I feel it's an underrated game. You drill for oil, transport it with your train and then sell it to the big oil companies. This makes it a pretty nice bidding game.

Oh and did I mention there are miniatures!?!? :D

As always we had a great time together and enjoyed the game as well.

Welcome to our Kingdom!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife, dear ol' pops, beautiful daughter and I played a GREAT game of Isle of Skye from Mayfair Games.

After a great time with the family as well as a great game at the table my beautiful daughter ended up beating us all! She was completely excited and surprised that she had done so but I kept telling her that the points only really matter when you're counting them.

Dear ol' pops came in a CLOSE second with my lovely wife getting third and then myself in the dust for last place. As you can imagine, I've REALLY been enjoying all these games and playing them with my family. I only wish we could ALL play them together every single day.

I can't wait until tomorrow when my lovely wife, dear ol' pops and I setup and play Black Gold!

The Haunt Happens!

What's going on everyone!? Tonight for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife, dear ol' pops, beautiful daughter and I played another game of Betrayal at House on the Hill with the Widow's Walk expansion.

It was a BLAST and we even got to play one of the new haunts! I can NOT wait to play again sometime soon. This is the perfect time of year to play this game!
