pReview: Zombie Farkle

What's going on everyone!? I recently got in contact with the great people over at Boardworks about their new dice game called Zombie Farkle which is currently on KICKSTARTER to preview and they gladly accepted. So sit back, grab your favorite dice cup that doubles as a zombie killer and let's check out Zombie Farkle!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1126868482/zombie-farkle-a-dice-game-to-die-for

As always, here's an excerpt:
"Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later; and now the zombie apocalypse is here. But never fear humanity, heroes have emerged to save us all! Ninjas, robots, pirates, monkeys, and aliens are here to defeat the zombie hordes and restore order. All they need is a little bit of your help."

That being said, you can see that this is a great press your luck game. It's a fast, fun game which is great for on the go play!

All you need are the dice, A scrap of paper for the scoring and a pen. Once you have these three items, you're ready to go ahead and take on the zombie apocalypse in dice form!

To start, each player takes the 6 dice and rolls them, While simultaneously yelling out: Robot, Ninja, Alien, Pirate or Monkey.

If you roll any of the dice with the face of your hero(The one you called out for that roll) then you have successfully rolled a hero and any zombie dice that were rolled are "killed" allowing you to re-roll them again should you choose to.

If you roll any zombies but NOT your selected hero, then the zombie eats your brain and that die goes to the other player effectively costing your more and more dice as time goes on.

Once a player reaches 5000 points the game is over and a winner is declared. Now, don't let that score fool you, the turns are QUICK and before you know it, you'll be at 5000 points.

Now, just in case it needs to be mentioned, the set I have is a prototype and doesn't reflect the final quality of the dice. The actual dice in question will be etched with nice crisp images with the same quality as their other dice game: Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. To help demonstrate the quality, I also have a set of dice for that game and I can honestly say, I'm excited to see them made!

On to my opinion:
Game Art: The art on the actual dice is very fun and "cartoony". It's a great match to the theme and type of game and I feel like it fits perfectly on the dice.

Gameplay: The gameplay is fast, fun and most importantly, EASY to learn. I've never played any game of Farkle and I feel like I'm now a pro with how the game is played, even only after the first few games in the beginning I felt the same way.

Game Quality: As I said, I have a prototype copy so the actual quality of the dice will be exceptionally better in the end product. The other dice that they sent to demonstrate their level of quality is great. The etching is crisp and clear, The dice seem to roll fairly and they have a nice weight to them.

So should you buy this one? DEFINITELY! If you're looking for a game that you can fill some spare time with then this is definitely for you. If you're like me and have appointments and a busy schedule this game is perfect for giving you a few minutes(or more when wanted) to get away from your busy life and just enjoy a simple game.

Click here to check out the kickstarter and help support this great little game!

As always, thank you for reading and take care! :)
