2 Games for 3 players!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the 2x Game a Day Challenge we played two games that shared something in common. Now, I know you're probably looking at the two games at hand and saying "Tim, what the heck do Qwirkle and Zombies!!! have in common with eachother!?".

Well you, I'm glad to mention what that might be. Back on January 20th of 2017 I had the absolute pleasure of being invited to a certain someone's house for the weekend to playtest games and just have an overall great gaming session for the weekend. That person was none other than the one I refer to as the "Zombie Lady" herself, Kerry Breitenstein!

Over the time spent at her house for the weekend there were a few games we played that were just for fun. One of these games? You guessed it, Qwirkle!

So there's a bit of a fun fact for everyone and I'm so glad to have had the experience and would jump at the chance to do it again!

First up was Zombies!!!, a game near and dear to me. I actually got left behind in this one and, as you can see in the picture, dear ol' pops and my lovely wife made it safely to the helicopter!

Next up was Qwirkle, a game that we have grown to love more and more over the past year. Unfortunately, again, I didn't win this one tonight. The winner was dear ol' pops with 125 with my lovely wife ending with 123. So as you can see, it was a very close game for the two of them! For me? Not so much, I ended with a humble 113, lol.

As always, thank you for reading and don't forget to stop and smell the meeples! :)

Dice, Dad's and Daughter!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the 2x Game a Day Challenge my beautiful daughter, dear ol' pops and I had some fun playing some great games!

First up was Sushi Go to get dear ol' pops in the mindset. The three of us played this a LOT together when we were in the hospital for Zelda's birth. It was a VERY close game between the two of them with Trinity winning by just ONE POINT over dear ol' pops!

Next up was some Jenga fun with a version that he hasn't played called "Throw 'n Go". We all had a great time playing this one and really were getting the tower up there but it had to happen sometime and it did... On Trinity's turn!

It was still a fun game and one that I can see us having a lot of fun with if my lovely wife gets the chance!

Daddy Daughter Date!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the 2x Game a Day Challenge my beautiful daughter and I played some games together since my wife had to work late.

First up was Raptor! a great 2 player game. It's not very complex but it is a great time. She ended up winning this one.

Next up was a card game called Man Bites Dog! It's more of a silly party game but still just as fun with two players. Surprise, surprise, she won this one too! :D

A date for two!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the 2x Game a Day Challenge(I'm sorry but it's bugging me not to refer to it like that for some reason, lol!) my lovely wife and I played a couple two player games since Trinity didn't feel like playing tonight. :)

First up was Holmes and boy did I get my butt kicked! She ended up DOUBLING my score, lol!

Next up was Deck Builder: The Deck Building Game. Now, I know I don't really have a good "in play" picture for this one and I apologize. The game is so fast and fun that I didn't really have time to grab a decent one!

Somehow I managed to take the win for this game but to be completely fair, my wife has never played this one until tonight(so she says). Although, I could have sworn we played this for my 2016 challenge. :P

New games and old games!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge my family and I tried out City of Horror. It was a different kind of game that was very fast on turns but didn't really make too much sense the first time around. We may have to revisit this one as it just didn't "do it" for us.

After that, we were all pretty burned out from the game so I just played an online game of Star Realms and ended up getting my butt kicked, lol.

Other than that, earlier in the day I ended up making myself a Tea Box to keep all of my tea's in! I would have liked it to turn out a little better but I was still pretty happy with it. I did everything on this thing my self from cutting the glass to etching "Tea" into it. :)

Travelling Germs!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge I got two games to the table that I really enjoy but rarely get to play.

First up was Colt Express which happens to rate very high on my list for sheer fun factor. After a great time playing, Trinity ended up the winner which is awesome for her! I mean, what kid DOESN'T want to beat their parents at a game!?

Next up was Biotix which is a wonderful "take that" style game. It was a bit slow going in the beginning because I had to reaquaint myself with the game but once it sunk in we all started playing quickly again. Surprisingly I ended up winning this one out of nowhere.

Castles, Farmers and Aliens!

What's going on everyone!?

Today ended up being another busy day so I was just barely able to squeeze two games in but I did it so that's what matters! :)

First up was Carcassone against my lovely wife. We had to quit early due to a screeming infant but it was still a CLOSE game. I never realized how hard it is to concentrate in such a situation.

Next up was some Mint Tin Aliens! Yet another of my favorite "GOTG" games and a VERY fun set collection game. These games are so convenient that I always love playing them where ever I am! In some sort of twist of fate I actually WON this game!

Bosses, Bugs and Giveaways!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge my lovely wife and I played two games with a video game theme to them!

First up was some Centipede! She played as the Gnome and I played the bugs. I ALMOST one but on the very last move I lost my concentration and she ended up killing what was left of the centipede for the win!

Next up was one of our favorites, Boss Monster! This game was going smoothly for me in the beginning but then Zelda started crying and kept doing so through the rest of the game no matter if either of us held her or not. This caused me to once again, lose concentration and my lovely wife ended up winning this one as well!

Now, on to some awesome news! I have recently been sponsored by Fireside Games for my reviews, videos and as a supporter of my 2x Game a Day Challenge! There's a lot to mention so please watch the following video and be sure to watch it to the end for your chance to win some cool items!

Epic Tiny Games!

What's going on everyone!?

Today was very exciting and I can't wait to share why in a video I'll be recording tomorrow! I know, I know, I'm teasing you a bit but trust me... ;)

Today for the GaD challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I played some games where the SIZE of the games were the technical theme.

First up was Tiny Epic Quest which is an AMAZING game and I just can't seem to get enough of it! Tonight as it may be of no surprise, my wife won! The loss was worth it though. To see her excited to win at a game she thought she wouldn't be good at is something I love seeing.

Next up was some Mint Tin Pirates, one of my all time favorite GOTG (Gaming On The Go) titles. This time it was my beautiful daughter versus me in a one on one match! In the beginning I was getting some HORRID rolls but just when it seemed it was over I started getting some amazing rolls!

My daughter took the loss like a champion though. I'm glad to see she's getting better at accepting she can't win EVERY game. I still don't like winning against her but they have to learn some how to accept failure at times. :)

Dragons, Brains and playtesting!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge, one of the games we played was a playtest copy so I'm not entirely sure if it's cool that I shared it. That being said, I included a blurred photo of it just in case because I wanted to keep record of it even if I couldn't mention the title! :)

First up was the mystery game and we had a blast playing it! I can't wait to tell you more about it but for now all I can really say is that my lovely wife won and my beautiful daughter took second!

Because we were running out of time this evening we played some Zombie Dice! Again, my lovely wife won with an amazing perfect roll on her second try and again, Trinity placed second! I ended up with last yet again, lol!

Last up was one that I played solo this evening. I'm happy to report that I got to a personal best of 42 for the night all on a single life!

Gone Fishin'!

What's going on everyone!?

I had a bit of a busy day filled with games and some working on my new lights for recording videos! Today for the GaD challenge I got two great games to the table and as usual, yours truly didn't win, lol!

Because dear ol' pops was heading home today we got a game of Coldwater Crown in first thing this morning and man is this game just beautiful! I obviously didn't win but it was a great session and a CLOSE game!

Next up was Alhambra and it was a blast as well! It ended up being a VERY close game the entire time but in the end Trinity won!

Wonders and Busters!

What's going on everyone!

Today I spent some time working on some new lighting for the videos the better part of the day. Later on in the evening we got to play Unearth which is a great dice placement game and Dungeon Busters!

Unearth is a great time every time it hits the table. Tonight, Trinity ended up walking away with the win over all of us!

Next up we played some Dungeon Busters as requested by Trinity last night. It was yet another wonderful time spent with family and in the end, Trinity won this one as well!

Hanging out with Miners!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge there was a mining theme and it was fun! We had recently purchased Quartz so we were eager to get that one to the table. After we played that one I figured a good follow up that didn't take a lot of time would be Dragonstone Mine!

First up was Quartz as I mentioned and it was a blast to play! ( HA! See what I did there!?! :P ) As usual I came in last but it really was fun so I didn't mind.

Next up was Dragonstone Mine which is another wonderful game with the same theme in mind. It almost reminds me of a lighter version of Quartz in a way. As with the recurring theme this evening, I also lost this game by placing last again so all was right in the universe, lol!

Levelling up my train!

What's going on everyone!?

Today was another busy day of filming reviews but after I had a few recorded after dinner and ready for editing it was time to play some games! Today for the GaD challenge my beautiful daughter, dear ol' pops and I played some Super Mario Level Up and Train Maker!

First up was Super Mario Level Up! which was a great time and many of laughs were made. In the end, it turns out that dear ol' pops was the winner with Trinity coming in second!

Next up was Train Maker which is one of our FAVORITE dice games. I was having so much fun witht the game that I nearly forgot to take a picture! Just one turn after this Trinity had won the game!

As always, thank you for reading and don't forget to stop and smell the meeples! :)

Taking it easy in the Swamp!

What's going on everyone!?

I've been doing some work with my youtube channel today because of the new requirements they're doing for the monetization which really sucks for beginners and smaller content creators. On top of that I've also been working on my Patreon Page to get ready to start doing SOME content for patrons exclusively.

Now don't worry, if you're not a fan of Patreon I'm still going to be doing my reviews and #2xgameaday2018 posts for free. But it may be something to check into. Not only will you be able to show your support directly, you will also be able to get into some exclusive giveaways and such for patrons.

I'm not all about the money but since this is the profession I've chosen I do need to try and generate funds to help support what I'm doing with equipment and other things.

Ok, so now that I've got that out of the way! :P

Today for the GaD challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I played some Take It Easy and Swamped!

First up was Take It Easy! and it was a blast! We have the Daphodile Edition thanks to Peter Burley himself so that's why it may look a little different but man is this board fun! In the end, my lovely wife won with 14 more points!

Next up was a game I've only played maybe ONCE. I've been dying to actually play a session of this with my family for over a year now and tonight seemed like the perfect night! This game is FUN! So fun I want to play again just writing about it! I can't believe it took this long to play it but it was soo worth the wait!

Chopsticks and Colors!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the GaD challenge my lovely wife, beautiful daughter and I played some Jenga and CDMC 3000!

First up was Throw 'n Go Jenga which my daughter picked up from the thrift shop yesterday. It was an interesting twist to the way it's played and in probably my favorite one if I HAVE to play Jenga, lol. I ended up losing of course but that was to be expected now wasn't it! :P

Next up we played Chopstick Dexterity Mega Challenge 3000 as requested by Trinity. It was a fun and quick game which was a little difficult for her because she wasn't so well with the chopsticks but she played through and ended up winning anyways!

I have also added 4 new video reviews which you can find in the "Reviews" secion of the blog. So be sure to go check those out!

Rabbits, Birds and Space, Oh My!

What's going on everyone!?

Today started out a little later than I would have liked but with the back not feeling too hot I decided to remain in bed a little longer than normal. Later on in the day I took my beautiful daughter to the local thrift shop so she could spend some of her savings and we came home with a couple older board games. Only one of which is pictured mind you, that would be Angry Birds!

From that point on we had quite the day of gaming!

So the first game we had to try out was Angry Birds as that was the one she was most excited for. It was easy to understand and the building was challenging but all in all the game was fun. She ended up winning by getting to 1,000 and me at 800!

Next up was a more childish game called Jumping Jack. It was a simple game of spinning and pulling carrots until the rabbit jumped up from the center. My beautiful daughter won 2 but not before my lovely wife won 1. Take a look at this epic catch in motion as the rabbit JUMPED from the mound!

After that we played Lift Off: Get me off this planet! and had a wonderful time as usual with this hit from Pencil 1st Games. In the end, my lovely wife got all of her alieneeples off the planet before it exploded while my beautiful daughter and I had some little guys left behind.  :'(

And last up for the day my lovely wife and I played a game of Star Realms! As usual, she ended up kicking my butt and making me feel like I was winning when I was actually losing!

As always, thank you for reading and don't forget to stop and smell the meeples! :)
