Stick 'em up! You got it Mr. Dragon!!!

What's going on everyone!? Today was a very fun day for us at the game table this evening! We started out with a great family game of Colt Express. It is still one of my favorite games to get to the table when we can. I love the 3d trains and elements to the game as well as the way that you stack the deck.

After a fun game we counted all the points and I managed to get the win by 250 points!



After dinner we setup Betrayal at the House on the Hill and threw in the new expansion The Widows Walk!

It was another great experience as usual and we got to see some of the new room tiles as well as cards. Unfortunately for us, we were slain by the dragon. Hopefully we'll get one of the new haunts tomorrow evening as I plan to play this game as much as possible for a review of it soon!

Comin' Round the Bend!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge my dear ol' pops, beautiful daughter and I played a fun game of Ticket To Ride: Europe!

It was a great game and we all had a blast, in the end my dear ol' pops came out the winner!

This is one of my favorite games and I can't wait to play it again!

It's an Invasion!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife and I playtested a prototype copy of Nightmare Forest: Alien Invasion by Solarflare Games! It was a COMPLETE blast playing this one and I'm hoping to get a 4 player game of it going this weekend.

Unfortunately, we didn't survive and save all of you readers out there from the alien invasion. We made it all the way to the end but before we could kill the last one in the forest, the turn tracker ran out and he was able to.. umm.. "Phone Home".. for backup. Yeah we'll use THAT! ;)

Hopefully we don't let you down this weekend when we try our hand at it again!

ALL ABOOOAAARD!!!!

What's going on everyone!? Today was another exciting but busier that I had hoped kind of day. First off, to start the day I got my playtest kit from Solarflare Games for one of their newest games in the works. I don't think I can say much about it just yet so I'll have to leave it at that for now.

I was looking forward to testing it out today but a few things got in the way and before I knew it the day seemed to be just about over so I'll be playing it for sure tomorrow as well as other times throughout this weekend when dear ol' pops is here!


As some of my readers may know, I'm a sucker for trains. I don't know what it is about them but I simply LOVE them. As such, this means that I love getting my hands on tabletop games that have to do with trains. One of the most popular if not THE most popular game with this theme in mind is the Ticket To Ride(TTR) series of games.

We have TTR European here on the shelf and have played it a few times but sadly it's just not a game my lovely wife can enjoy. Not sure why or what the heck is wrong with her(KIDDING!).

So yesterday she let me purchase the TTR Mobile App on google play with some of the extra change we had and I've been loving it ever since! Unfortunately I only have the one map that comes with the app because the additional maps are just out of reach for the moment but I'm hoping to have them in due time as well.


Ok, so after ALL of that I'm sure you can guess what I played today. That's right! For today's Game a Day challenge I played TTR Mobile! It was a GREAT game but unfortunately I did REALLY bad, lol. In all, I've won a couple and lost more than a couple but as usual I have a blast playing the game!

On Expedition

What's going on everyone!? Today was a pretty buy evening for us. We had to go to our beautiful daughters Parent/Teacher conference and by the time we got home it was getting a bit late. Today for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife and I played a quick game of Lost Cities.

Surprisingly I happen to steal the win for this game. I don't know what's going on lately but I have to say, winning is a nice change once in a while. Overall it's just playing the game that I enjoy but who doesn't like to win sometimes!?

Solo Zombie Dice!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge I decided to play some Zombie Dice solo since the day seemed to end quick today.

All in all I did a fairly good job on my own. I even broke my old record by currently getting 26 brains! All with in three lives!

Westward Ho!

What's going on everyone!? Today for the Game a Day challenge my lovely wife, dear ol' pops and I played Oregon Trail!

I've been looking for this game since release and it's proven very elusive. Luckily I received it as an early christmas present last monday so I've been VERY eager to get it to the table all week.

There are two things that happen in today's game. The first is that we unfortunately didn't make it to Oregon. We had a good run and made it over half way there but fate was not on our side...

The second thing is that I realized how much fun this game is. It can be a bit difficult or even unforgiving when there are cards that can instantly kill you but really, that's how the original pc game was as well. VERY unforgiving for sure.

This game is one of those that I feel is a GREAT conversion from digital to physical game. The look and feel of the cards will leave you with some nostalgia and in a good way. It's very nice to see that they kept as true as they could with the game.

When it comes to traveling the trail, I like how they came up with traversing such a great distance. Basically, you stack every 5 cards with the last card played as the current piece of the trail to continue off of. Oh, and there are in fact river crossings as well. Some of them aren't SO bad, others will leave you dead if you fail...

If you happen to have a chance to play this or even purchase this one I highly suggest it if you would like a great co-op game that truly is unrelenting yet fun. You can win, it just will not be handed to you. ;)

What's going on everyone!? Today for the "Game a Day" challenge my dear ol' pops, beautiful daughter and I played a game of Pandemic: Contagion!

It was a great time as usual and another close game between him and I but two turns before the end he passed me up in points and got the win. Look how close it was!

Small Star Civ!

What's going on everyone!? Tonight for the "Game a Day" challenge my dear ol' pops and I played a great session of Small Star Empires! It was a close game but I actually won the game in the end.
